The Institute
is the R&D center of semi-conductor technology under the
China Electronic Industry Association. Many state-level laboratories
and key testing centers are set up there, such as the national
defence science and technology laboratory of gallium arsenide
ultra-high-speed integrated circuit and power devices, the state
quality inspection and testing center of semi-conductor products,
the production permit certification center and No.13 inspection
department for electronic product production, the semi-conductor
metering station under the Ministry of Information, the consultation
and education center of electronic equipment and energy, and
etc. The Institute is the deputy chairman of National Semi-conductor
Industry Association, chairman of Semi-conductor Discrete Device
Association, the sponsor and unit-in-charge of electronic industry
semi-conductor information net, director of National Semi-conductor
Industry Standard Committee, the unit charged with specific
responsibility for standardization technology of IEC/T47, and
the secretary unit of IEC/TC47 standardization network.
Since the establishment 40 years ago, the Institute has pioneered
24 "first"s and filled the blank of domestic field
in several specialized areas, such as developing the country's
first transistor and the first gallium arsenide field effect
transistor. It has accomplished more than 2,000 research achievements,
among which 49 are of state level, 337 of provincial level,
79 being domestic first, 761 of domestic leading, and over 800
of domestic advanced. After entering the 1990s, the Institute
has made remarkable successes in 10 fields of silicon microwave
large power meter, gallium arsenide integrated circuit, micromechamical
electronic system, large-power semi-conductor laser, and etc.
Recently, the institute and 5 of its wholly invested and holding
enterprises were ratified the hi-tech enterprise of Shijiazhuang.
One of its affiliate was designated the enterprise specialized
in integrated circuit technology and obtained the import and
export right from the MOFTEC. |
